Third Time Lucky?
The first one was original. The second one was funny. But does the third one have any juice left?
Austin Powers in Goldmember tells the story of the out-of-place secret agent as he tries to save his father from the clutches of Dr. Evil and another villain properly named Goldmember, and the world from absolute destruction. His sidekick this time is the beautiful Foxy Cleopatra, a woman pulled out of time from 1975... Good looking, but not having the same essence the powers beuaties before her possessed. The story doesn't matter much in a movie like this, but the jokes sure do, and Austin Powers in Goldmember is a mixed bag of surprises and the same old things.
Not unexpectedly, Mike Myers, who not only wrote the movie but also stars as most of the main characters, chose to use a lot of the gags from the previous films, so as to get some easy laughs from the audience. He pulls it off remarkably well for the third installment. The opening sequence didnt quite have the same affect as the previous 2, but the appearances of many famous camios breifly made the difference. The new "Shh" and "Zip it" sequences is not wholly original, but draws a laugh where the others did. Many of the repeat jokes had enough of a touch to make them just as hilarious as the others.
MIke Myers may have forgotten the ingredients to the film that made the first two so popular... its a spy spoof about an spy from the 60's is stuck in the future. Overall the third installment contains a barrel of laughs and deserves credit where given. If your expecting something of equivalance to the first 2 movies, think again, the third doesnt excell that much.

VERY SHAGADELIC BABY YEAH
This movie,is fantastic. I believe it is not as good as number 2 but still very funny. With appearances from well know celebraties Mike Myers,Beyonce Knowles, Michael Caine, Tom Cruise, Gyweneth Paltrow, Danny DeVito and many other talented actors/actoresses. I have already seen the movie 5 times and I intend to see it many more times. Some new characters include Goldmember(a man obsessed with Gold), Foxy Cleopatra (a secret agent undercover as a singer/dancer), Nigel Powers (Austin Powers' Father who is young at heart). This is a fantastic movie and is definatley worth seeing especially if you have seen number 1 and 2

"Old member"
Disappointing! After two fabulous movies as Austin Powers, why on earth did Mike Myers lower himself to make this movie.
Boring, predictable and definitely...old hat!

Well ,who says that all sequels are doomed to be failures and not as good as the first.WRONG.This film is great from start to finish. The familiar characters are there,Austin Powers,Dr. Evil,Mini Me etc.If you've seen the first two movies, and really enjoyed them, get ready for another blockbuster from Mike Myers and Crew. You won't be disappointed.
