Up, up and Away! This film took off!

Ever since I saw this in the cinemas I have been waiting for it to arrive on DVD. And finally, it is here! Firstly, I was captivated by the remarkable resemblance that Brandon Routh bears to Christopher Reeve in certain lights (this was most definately a tribute to the larger than life star), but very quickly I realised that while he obviously took a lot of his cues from the big man, Brandon still managed to make the role his own. He conveyed a very "human" side of Superman that we hadn't seen since Richard Donner directed his first Superman way back in 1978. That movie amazed audiences with the first convincing special-effects to make a man fly. This one will astound you with the action, the suspense, the occasional humour and the caliber of acting by Brandon Routh, Kate Bosworth and Kevin Spacey as the maniacal Lex Luthor. This film is true to the Richard Donner vision, and as such is a feast for the senses and features that stirring and award winning music by John Williams. Look up in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it's a Super Movie!
