Awesome!
This movie is the best movie i have ever seen! It has action, comedy, drama and everything else all rolled into one. The special effects are amazing for a movie of its time and Arnie, Jamie Lee and Eliza have done a fantasic job. The plot keeps you watching and the storyline progresses at a good pace. No matter how many times i watch it, its still a surprise and still makes me laugh. I have seen this movie over 100 times and still cant get enough, as a matter of fact, doing this review is making me feel like i want to watch it again right now! I recommend this movie to anyone and everyone who wants to watch a great film. I'd give it 10 stars if i could!

James Bond meets the Matrix ....True
...Lies, but Arnie does gets into some very serious James Bond action every much as spectacular and there’s more than one action scene reminiscent of the Matrix, like the shootout in the male toilet mirroring the foyer shootout in the later movie. If you’ve seen True Lies you’ll know what I mean, if you haven’t, you won’t believe this movie was made in 1994. It’s an extraordinarily good transfer to DVD, excellent white/black levels and sharp throught with no visible flaws. The 5.1 sound track is very dynamic and uses all channels to really good effect making it overall a good demo disk to show off the home theatre. It’s a good story line too, full of amazing stunts and special effects, surprises, comedy and even some romance tossed in to boot, but don’t expect the usual, this is no ordinary movie. Jamie Lee Curtis puts in a sterling performance as the neglected wife. Seeing True Lies post Sept 11, it’s difficult not to think of it as somewhat prophetic. The terrorists are quite believable real life terrorists doing the sorts of things we’ve come to believe real terrorists get up to. I’m not going to give too much away here, if you haven’t seen the movie, it’s a viewing must. If you have, see it again, it’s worthy of multiple viewings. I’ve made it a very special addition to my collection.

Misses The Mark
Delivers.... But Misses Something
True Lies is a good movie. OK, it's a great movie. But it does have Arnie, and Jamie Lee is a little naughty in it.
There is a minus and a plus right there, but then you have characters such as the wacked out terrorist, in charge of bumbling idiots, and an pretty arts dealer who imports weapons instead of statues. Unbelievable beyond unbelievability.
The special effects are A-Grade. And they should be.
James Cameron is the director, and he isn't usually slack with his movies. Or should I say "multi-million dollar movies"?
Arnie is just too much like a cardboard box to pull this one off, but the film does have its moments.
Moments which can cause you to burst into hysterics. Unfortunately, those moments are usually off topic from the awful story line of the movie which has become to real to be comedic.
Enjoy the moments with the film's true star, Tom Arnold, who livens the film up with snide, humorous comments.
Just try to ignore the [lack of] storyline.
William Singleton.
