If you could only choose one gadget to excite a child about science, the Air Powered Water Rocket has got to be it! A little bit of water, a little bit of air – pull the pin and your rocket is launched into space at a great rate of knots raining down a trail of H2O as it soars to the heavens.
Now of course, you could go for a home-made job – for which you'll be needing a garden hose, copper pipe, hose clamp, end cap, tyre valve, hose coupling, recyclable drink bottles and a whole host of elbows, brackets, wood, solder plus a whole myriad of tools, bibs and bobs. Not to mention many hours spent in construction and perfection of trajectories, launch mechanisms etc. Alternatively, just one press of the Add to Cart button and all you've got to do is open the box and prepare to launch!
This is no fill 'er up and watch 'er flop toy – the Air Powered Water Rocket has got enough thrust to fly 30 metres! You fill the rocket half full of water, put it on the launcher, pump it up and pull the cable release – that's it and then it's Houston, we have lift off!

The rocket launcher is approximately 260(dia.) x 250(h) mm and can fire the 370 mm long rocket a distance of around 30 metres.
