How to Place an Order: Beginners Guide

Shopping on any site for the first time requires a little help, so here are the guidelines on how to place an order with dStore.

Setting up an account & general information

To place an order with dStore.com.au, you need have a dStore account – this only takes a couple of minutes to set up. The information we ask for are the basic personal details we need to complete and track your orders – your name, your address, your phone number and the delivery address.

You'll be pleased to hear that this information is not shared with any third parties. Also, at dStore we respect your privacy and do not send unsolicited mail to your inbox. When you sign up you have the choice to opt in to a dStore newsletter subscription. These are weekly emails that spotlight new products and point you in the direction of the best deals we have on offer.

(If you set up an account and decide not to purchase, your details can be permanently removed on request).

Countrywide $6.95 delivery charge!

dStore charges a flat $6.95 freight and handling fee for each order regardless of how many items are ordered in any single transaction.

Finding what you want

The quickest way to find the items is by using our product search facility located at the top left of every page. If you'd just like to browse the store, wander through the departments by clicking on the “tabs” at the top pf the page (eg: DVD, Mobile Phones, Lifestyle, etc). You can explore the departments further by using the handy category lists in the left hand column.

How to add items to your trolley

Items to be purchased must first be added to Your Trolley. To do this, simply click on the "ADD TO TROLLEY" button that appears next to the product. If you want to continue browsing the store, just click on “Continue Shopping”.

At the bottom of this page you can also redeem promotional vouchers to use towards payment of your order - for more information on these click here.

Before you proceed to the Set Parcel Options page, make sure the following details on this page are correct:

  • Product selection
  • Quantities
  • Prices
  • Vouchers are redeemed (if applicable)

When you have confirmed your final selection, enter your password and click on "Click Here To Checkout ".

Checkout Procedure: Set Parcel Options

Three important things happen on this page:

1. Set your parcel options
2. Select dStore credits
3. Select payment method

1: SET YOUR PARCEL OPTIONS

Nominate your delivery address(es). Our system defaults to your dStore account address, but you can nominate a new address for individual parcels by clicking on "Change Parcel Address". If you are using an address already in your address book, simply choose from the dropdown. Once you have done so, make sure you click on "Use Address Book". New addresses can be saved and added to your dStore address book for convenient reference next time.

Nominate the delivery method. At present, dStore delivers using a set combination of couriers and Australia Post services . In December 2006 we aim to offer new Express Post services allowing our customers to choose the method by which their goods are sent. We'll keep you posted.

Nominate the dispatch date. At this stage we are only able to offer this option in our Hamper and Flower departments, but we hope to introduce the service across all departments in the future. To set a date in the future, click on "Change" and choose a date from the dropdown menu. Please keep in mind that this is the date you want the goods will leave the warehouse, so always check our delivery schedules first.

Nominate gift wrapping. If this is available an "Add Gift Wrap" link will appear in the parcel options table - click on this to make your selection. Please note that this option is not available across all departments at this point in time.

Add a personalised message. This might be handy if you are sending the parcel to someone as a gift. This personalised message will appear on the packing slip inside the parcel. Prices do not appear on this packing slip.

2. SELECT DSTORE CREDITS

If you have any credit on your dStrore account, a "Select Your Credit" button will appear just above your order total on this page. Click this button and you will be taken to a page where you can choose one or more of your credits depending on the conditions (outlined next to each amount). When you have made your selection, click "select" and you will be taken back to the Parcel Options page.

If you need to redeem a voucher for use on your current order, click on the I have a voucher to use. How do I redeem it? link that appears in the Checkout Help section.

3. SELECT PAYMENT METHOD

Choose your method of payment from the 4 options in the dropdown:

CREDIT CARD
dStore accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Diners Club. We use the latest technology to protect your credit card information during an online transaction.

PAY BY PHONE
If you'd feel more comfortable calling us and giving your card details over the phone, select this option.

PAYPAL
PayPal is a preferred method of payment, it's greatest advantage is that payments are made immediately - much quicker than sending bank transfers. If you don't have PayPal set up, visit www.paypal.com.au .

BPAY®
Payments can be made via your financial institution either by phone or internet banking. If you don't have BPAY set up, ask your financial institution or visit www.bpay.com.au

When all these details are confirmed, click on "Proceed To Payment"

HELPFUL HINT: Check the delivery address carefully. While we will do our best to recover goods sent to an incorrect address, we are not obliged to replace such parcels should they go missing.

Checkout Procedure: Payment

This is a final chance for you to make sure that all the details are correct BEFORE you make payment. Please confirm the following information as displayed on the page before proceeeding:
  • Product selection (inc. quantities)
  • Delivery address(es)
  • Order total (including shipping)
  • Credits used
  • Amount to pay

If any details are not correct, simply click back through the checkout and make the necessary changes.

When all details are correct, enter your payemt details as required and click "Place Your Order" to complete the transaction.


A CONFIRMATION SCREEN WILL THEN APPEAR WITH YOUR DSTORE ORDER NUMBER.
Your order will also be confirmed by a Tax Invoice or BPAY request that will be sent to your email address. If you do not receive this:

A] We have not received your order. Please check the status in Your Account and contact us if you need some help placing your order.
B] Your spam filter may be blocking our emails – please check your spam folder and settings on your computer. To see if the order went through successfully, please check the status in Your Account.
